“HOW TO PREPARE FOR A HOME APPRAISAL“
If a buyer is financing their purchase of your home, they’ll be required to have an appraisal. A low appraisal can hurt the sale price of your home or even cause the sale to fall through. The appraiser will assess your home’s age, condition, and features, including the property location, the lot or land site, square footage, number of bedrooms and bathrooms, and the landscaping and curb appeal. You don’t need to attend the appraisal, but you should make the appraiser aware of any upgrades you’ve made by providing invoices or a written description of the work. They won’t be at the property long, so first impressions are important. The home should be clean, decluttered, and depersonalized.
