Let’s Talk Real Estate! “TIPS FOR ATTENDING A HOME INSPECTION” April 1, 2026

It’s important to have a third-party home inspection when you’re buying a residential property. Even if thehome is newly constructed or the sellers had a pre-listing inspection, you should hire your own independent inspector for verification. While you should attend the home inspection for its duration, you should not follow the inspector from room to room asking questions along the way. Give them the space to concentrate on their evaluations, but you can also perform your own visual inspections on the property, making notes with questions for the inspector. Your inspector should go over their initial report with you at the end of the inspection, and you can ask all your questions during this time.
