Flipping a home involves buying a property and then reselling it a short time later for profit, usually after making improvements that increase value.  However, it’s not as easy as they make it look on HGTV.  The flipper might contribute sweat equity to improve the property, or they may act as a general contractor, managing the contractors necessary to do the work.  Many do a combination of both.  House flipping can be very profitable, but it depends on the condition of the home.  A house with major structural issues will cost more to fix up, while a house with mainly cosmetic issues will turn a higher profit.  A home inspection will help determine the true condition of the property.
