In a hot market, where the style, price range, and location might appeal to other buyers, you may not want to depend on the seller countering your offer. First, they may not want to. Then, there’s the fact that counter-offers take time. Agents and their clients also have work and busy lives. Offers can sit in someone’s email. People may have different schedules and not be able to talk. Changes must be made to the paperwork, and signatures are needed. All that open time makes you vulnerable to other offers being presented, negotiated, and accepted. Counter-offers can be a challenging part of a real estate transaction for both the buyer and the seller. Accept or reject?
