“IT WAS A VERY GOOD YEAR” 

In 2018, U.S. home sellers enjoyed their largest gains in a dozen tears. Having lived longer in their homes before deciding to sell, sellers in 2018 enjoyed an average realized gain of $61,000 ( up from $50,000 in 2017 and $39,500 in 2016). Homeowners who sold in the last quarter of 2018 had remained in their properties an average of 8.3 years, longer than any other time in the past 19 years. The year 2018 is widely regarded as having benefitted from a confluence of ” perfect storm” circumstances, including low interest rates, low inventory, high demand, and sellers’ high equity buildup. It is hoped that this year will not be  too far removed from these conditions and that sellers can take full advantage. Timing is an important aspect of just about everything we do. Time to buy, or time to sell? Considering making an investment in your future, or contemplating taking advantage of the investment you made years ago when purchasing your first home?
