When sellers and their agents market homes to the buying public, it is important to mention features that draw positive attention. As might be expected, any description that mentions open floor plans, energy-efficient heating/cooling systems, added storage space, and outdoor entertainment areas are likely to make a big impression on prospective buyers.  There are also some features that homebuyers find irresistible, which we might not have readily suspected as being so desirable. According to a national online real estate database company, homes that mentioned “steam shower,” “professional applicances,” and “pizza oven” sold at a considerable premium over listings that did not mention these features. Homes with “solar panels” and “shed/garage studios” also sold for more than homes without them. Improved homes are attractive to buyers. New roofs and windows are especially appealing, but any improvements are worth mentioning.  A homeowner who cares enough to replace, or improve is a homeowner who has most likely maintained the home.
